And so we return to the old in-joke of song lyrics as blog titles. This has been a long-running gag/game for some time now between myself and friends, and it shall continue here.
Guess the song title and artist, and if you get it right, you get that free prize I was talking about (which, if you remember, actually ends up costing you about £20 in telephone bills, plus postage and packaging, and a donation to the company sending it to you)
The only comment my previous entry recieved included "After reading it I had the urge to slap you round your face repeatedly and tell you to cheer the hell up Dude."
I would like to breifly point out a lot of this blog will be written in a tounge-in-cheek, cynical viewpoint, simply because I find it hillarious fun, and I also hammer stuff down on the keyboard as it comes into my head, so please do not take all of it to heart.
And now we go hurtling back into the real world like Valentino Eossi losing control of his bike at 60mph on the hairpin bend of Suzuka.
Today, I purchased the marvel known as Guitar Hero III. And what a Marvel it is. No, seriously.
I've been playing it for 4 hours straight, it's so damn addictive. It's probably the most efficient way of gaining RSI in a ridiculously short period of time though, as I have discovered as my wrists now refuse to actually work. Perhaps I should change my technique.
So, I have completed it on easy (having never played any game remotely like it I thought this would be a sensible idea - I'm no pansy, throw me a FPS and I'll jump straight in on Medium or Hard depending on how familiar I am with the control system), after which I was forced to play Dragonforce - Through the fire and the flames during the end credits (or listen to it being really messed up), after which I required a break on Beautiful Katamari after my hands threatened to fall off.
I then discovered a random "store" area off the story menu, which lead me to a place I could "buy" tracks, guitars, and other random shite with the "money" I had "earnt" from "touring and performing".
I scroll through the guitars available - meh.
I scroll through the clothes for characters - meh.
I scroll through the other random shite - meh.
I scroll throught the tracks - Something catches my eye.
This something happened to be a track by a band known as "Rise Against". Now, it's only in the past... 4 months... That I have learnt of their existence. I was introduced to them by my ex-girlfriend, and I was mildly impressed with their talent and wide range of styles. Now there's one song (Prayer of the Refugee) that has really become something of a staple song for me, it gets blasted fairly regularly since we split up and generally stops my mind fucking up and whatnot. In short, it's bloody awesome.
It also just happened to be the song on Guitar Hero III. For the past half hour, It's been on continuous play on the game. Blasting out of my TV, with a half assed attempts from me to "rock along" to it (as the game appears to describe it). I can now play it 100% on Medium difficulty. Whilst shouting along to it with a massive grin on my face. The previous 30 minutes have just been the most amount of fun I've had in about 5 weeks. And if you now excuse me, I'm off to blast along to it again, because it's so much damn fun.
Tomorrow... I'm going to buy Guitar Hero II.
