Once again, my blog focuses on Cadbury's, I wonder if this will become a running theme...
Mainly though, the hilarity of a small piece of company information/history I have pulled up from the depths of the internet.
I'm pretty sure 99% of people were completely unaware that in 1969 Cadbury's merged with Schweppes soft drinks to become Cadbury-Schweppes. In 2000 Triarc (Wendy's/Arby's) sold the rights for Snapple, Mistic and Stewart's to the company.
Ok so it's no funny so far, I know, but bear with me. In May 2008, Cadbury-Schweppes demerged, so one could focus on confectionary whilst the other focused on the Soft Drinks market in the US. The resulting companies from the merger?
Cadbury's PLC
And...
The Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc.
Whoever came up with that name is a marketing genius.
